I would have to disagree with the limited comments made by @Scott Mescud. Ecosse starts off with a set of preset palettes, or more specifically, 19 individual color palettes. From there it then gives you the option to arrange them however you like on the palette editing window. The ripple filter is fairly simple, you do not need to have a green screen in front of your printer to achieve the desired result.

I have used Ecosse successfully for a number of years. We are talking about the original palette mapper and the result Ecosse produces is very credible. As the original cartridge developer, I was able to tweak the palette immediately following the initial purchase of Ecosse and it still works just like the original. There is no need to apply any patches as it works.

A palette mapper is a tool that takes 24 bit images and converts them to a palette, with a colour scheme designated by the mapper. Using the mapper the colour scheme can be adapted to suit the style of the image. The palette can then be used to select colours for a range of jobs.

A ripple filter is a tool that is used to paint multiple layers of colour over the top of an image, with the colour of each layer determined by the value of the colour palette, controlled by the mapper. The mapper is able to control the amount of colour deposited on the image, by the range of the colour palettes.

A directional embosser embosses an image using a colour palette, with a range of presets and settings that are specified by the user.

Footnotes:

Introduction:Ecosse is the ability of Adobe Photoshop Plugin Ecosse to create a palette that can be used with other Adobe Photoshop plugins, including Photoshop Elements and Adobe Camera Raw.

Creating the palette:Ecosse uses RGB to create an image that is used as the palette. One image is made for the darker colours, and one is made for the lighter colours. The images for the darker and the lighter colours can have many colour values for each colour. The combinations of colours that create the palette can be represented by any numbers of colours.

The palette used for Ecosse is the same as the one used by Photoshop Elements 10, CS4 and later, Adobe Camera Raw, and Adobe Photoshop CS5.

Ecosse allows the colour combinations that are possible to be represented visually, in the palettes, by groups of up to four colours, the same as the number of colours possible in a palette made up of four colour boxes. For example, you can create a palette with four
